The Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) has warned the public about a website using the domain jerseyfsc.us and associated email addresses that falsely impersonate the regulator and show indicators of being set up for fraudulent purposes. The JFSC confirmed that the website and its contact details are not connected to the Commission, and that it does not provide scam-loss recovery services or request bank details from the public for that purpose. The JFSC also said that entities presented on the impersonating website as “licensed” have never been registered with, or applied for registration under, the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998 or the Proceeds of Crime (Supervisory Bodies) (Jersey) Law 2008. It urged the public to verify regulated status via the Commission’s official channels and to authenticate any purported JFSC correspondence by using the regulator’s official website and email domain and by independently contacting the JFSC to confirm legitimacy.
