The Monetary Authority of Macao published an operational update following the progressive departure of typhoon Ragasa, confirming that all financial institutions in Macao have resumed normal operations and that financial infrastructure continues to operate steadily. It also reported that insurers have activated an expedited “green channel” to speed up insurance payouts for storm-related losses. The insurance sector has received 22 general insurance claims linked to typhoon damage, including three claims under the “Property insurance against major disasters for small and medium-sized enterprises”. To accelerate settlement, insurers are coordinating with notaries to conduct on-site inspections and simplify claims procedures. The Monetary Authority of Macao will remain in close contact with banks and insurers to support service stability and claims-processing efficiency, and it also mobilised a team of around 20 people to assist government-led clean-up work in the Rua do Almirante Sérgio area.
