Greece’s Ministry of National Economy and Finance, jointly with the Ministries of Environment and Energy and of Social Cohesion and Family, amended the My Home II housing loan programme rules to widen eligibility and extend the time available to enter the scheme funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility and managed by the Hellenic Development Bank. The changes increase maximum income thresholds while keeping the minimum income requirement unchanged, and they extend both the programme enrolment and loan-contracting deadlines. Minimum income remains EUR 10,000 for singles, married/partners and single-parent families, while the maximum rises to EUR 25,000 for singles, EUR 35,000 for married/partners plus EUR 5,000 per child, and EUR 39,000 for single-parent families with the EUR 5,000 increment per child beyond the first unchanged. Income is assessed based on the last tax year or the average of the last three years, with the ceiling test excluding income that is exempt from income tax under Law 4172/2013 for 2024 heating-allowance purposes. The deadline to be admitted to the programme is extended to 31 May 2026 from 31 December 2025, with a further extension possible by decision of the minister responsible for the Special Recovery Fund Coordination Service (EYSTA) if resources remain available, and the deadline for signing the end-borrower loan agreement moves to 31 August 2026 from 30 June 2026; the announcement also cited a EUR 2 billion budget, absorption above 67%, and more than 11,000 participants already having found a home, with a stated objective of reaching 20,000 beneficiaries.
