The Superintendency of Banks of the Dominican Republic announced it will sponsor four in-person financial education talks for children and adolescents as part of the Central Bank’s twelfth Economic and Financial Week and the Global Money Week campaign, with sessions scheduled in Santo Domingo, Santiago and Baní. “Ahorropolis: My First Finances”, aimed at children aged six to eight, is set for 16 March at 10:30 a.m. at the Central Bank headquarters in Santo Domingo and for 18 March at 11:00 a.m. at Centro León in Santiago. “Finances for Young People”, aimed at teenagers, is scheduled for 16 March at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Bank headquarters in Santo Domingo and for 19 March at 11:30 a.m. at Centro Perelló in Baní. The Superintendency will also staff a ProUsuario stand during the week to provide guidance and tools, including help downloading the free ProUsuario mobile app, which provides credit information and financial education and enables users to file complaints and check inactive or abandoned accounts and deposits at entities in liquidation. The Central Bank’s Economic and Financial Week is set to run from 16 to 20 March at the Central Bank auditorium in Santo Domingo, its regional office in Santiago and Centro Perelló in Baní, alongside other talks, workshops and institutional stands.
