The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) announced it will hold a hybrid 2025 Spring National Meeting on March 23–26 in Indianapolis, bringing together state and U.S. territory insurance regulators, industry representatives, and other stakeholders to discuss current and emerging issues and move forward on 2025 workstreams. NAIC President and North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread is scheduled to deliver the keynote address on March 24, outlining priorities for the year. The meeting agenda is set to develop key initiatives previously outlined by the NAIC, including greater emphasis on pre-disaster mitigation, development of cybersecurity incident and market-disruption frameworks, Risk-Based Capital modernization, enhanced consumer privacy protections, consumer annuity protections, monitoring implementation of the Aggregation Method, and protecting consumer access to health insurance options. Committee, task force, and working group sessions are planned, alongside a Center for Insurance Policy and Research special session on March 25 focused on the structure and evolution of residual markets in the context of recent natural disasters and challenges obtaining homeowners insurance.
