The Superintendency of Banks of the Dominican Republic held a meeting with financial services users of its ProUsuario mobile app to gather feedback on their experience and suggestions for further improvements. The exchange was presented as part of the milestone of more than 500,000 subscriptions to the app, which is used to access consumer protection and financial information services. The authority said work is under way on new functions, including allowing users to stop promotional calls from financial intermediation entities to landline numbers and developing features designed for companies. Current functions include filing complaints without visiting the authority in person, checking credit history, identifying inactive or abandoned accounts, comparing personal indebtedness with similar profiles, verifying deposits held with institutions in liquidation or dissolution, locating branches, automated teller machines and subagents through the Banking Map, opting out of marketing call lists, and accessing educational content.
