Peru's Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds (SBS), through its Financial Intelligence Unit and with support from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, announced it will run the sixth edition of Anti-Money Laundering Prevention Week (SPLA) from 27 to 31 October 2025 to train and raise awareness among citizens, obliged entities and authorities on the risks and impacts of money laundering and practical prevention measures. The programme will be delivered via a virtual platform with prior registration and will offer more than 20 conferences by national and international specialists, with a participation certificate available on completion. Priority topics include organised crime’s use of new technologies, laundering risks linked to illegal mining, illegal logging and human trafficking, and typologies associated with extortion and corruption. As a lead-in, six in-person sessions are being held from 20 to 24 October in Puno and Madre de Dios for compliance officers, public officials, university students and civil society representatives, and the week is aligned with Peru’s National Day for the Prevention of Money Laundering on 29 October.
