The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that its chairman, Firdavs Tolibzoda, met in Turkey with the governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Fatih Karahan, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ banking systems. During the meeting, Tolibzoda outlined recent reforms in Tajikistan’s banking sector and shared 2025 banking system statistics, referencing moderate inflation, financial stability and increased public confidence. The discussion also covered Tajikistan’s financial reforms aimed at creating more favourable conditions for foreign investors and a transparent, predictable financial environment. Tolibzoda said foreign capital participation in the capital of the country’s credit institutions has remained stable in recent years and indicated that Tajikistan would welcome the presence and potential expansion of Turkish banks in its market. Tolibzoda invited Karahan to make an official visit to Tajikistan and highlighted potential new areas of cooperation, including the application of Turkey’s experience in digitalisation and innovative banking technologies.
