The Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN) convened a regional luncheon for its Latin America and the Caribbean members during the III Latin American Congress on Sustainable and Inclusive Banking in Santo Domingo, bringing together member institutions and financial-sector stakeholders to share new sustainable finance initiatives and regulatory developments. Discussions covered the launch of the International Finance Corporation’s Silver Economy Program, the rollout of the 2025 Resilient Banking Survey, and the introduction of the Circular Economy Finance Guidelines. SBFN described the Guidelines as the first comprehensive guidance on circular economy finance, setting eligibility criteria and quantifying the volume of eligible transactions to help financial institutions and corporates identify, assess and track circular economy financial flows. Participants also exchanged updates on regional regulatory activity, including work on green taxonomies, thematic bond issuance, open finance regulation, and strengthened environmental, social and governance and gender-related governance standards, alongside broader momentum on climate-related frameworks, social inclusion and digital transformation.
