The European Central Bank published its weekly consolidated financial statement, showing total assets and liabilities of EUR 6,313,602 million, a decrease of EUR 16,345 million from the previous week due to transactions. Claims on non-euro area residents denominated in foreign currency increased by EUR 1,057 million to EUR 515,026 million, while claims on euro area residents denominated in foreign currency declined by EUR 1,628 million to EUR 17,749 million. On the liability side, banknotes in circulation increased by EUR 1,757 million to EUR 1,578,776 million, while liabilities to euro area credit institutions related to monetary policy operations fell by EUR 4,527 million to EUR 2,934,302 million as current accounts dropped by EUR 15,158 million to EUR 166,380 million and the deposit facility increased by EUR 10,631 million to EUR 2,767,921 million.
