The Egmont Group reported on its participation in the Combating Cross-Border Financial Crime and Money Laundering Workshop, hosted by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada. In welcome remarks, Egmont Group Chair Elżbieta Franków-Jaśkiewicz emphasized trusted partnerships and timely information sharing in addressing increasingly complex financial crime across borders. Guillaume Ollivry, the group’s Working and Regional Groups Manager, discussed how cooperation among financial intelligence units supports investigations into money laundering and related crimes. The workshop featured the Prince Group case, recipient of the 2026 Best Egmont Case Award, as an example of financial intelligence and international collaboration helping disrupt sophisticated criminal networks. The award recognizes investigations in which exchanges of financial intelligence contributed to successful outcomes, reflecting the group’s longstanding focus on operational cooperation. Following the workshop, lead case investigator Peihua Lin visited the Egmont Group Secretariat in Ottawa for further discussions on operational cooperation, innovation and lessons from the investigation.
