The Central Bank of the Philippines published updated remittance data showing continued growth in cash remittances to the Philippines in June 2025 and over the first half of the year, with land-based overseas Filipinos contributing the larger share. Cash remittances rose 3.7% year on year to USD 2.99 billion in June 2025, while cumulative cash remittances for January to June 2025 increased 3.1% to USD 16.75 billion. Land-based overseas Filipinos remitted USD 2.43 billion in June 2025 (up 3.7% year on year) and sea-based overseas Filipinos remitted USD 555 million (up 3.5%). The increase in cash remittances was mirrored in personal remittances, which grew 3.7% year on year to USD 3.33 billion in June 2025 and rose 3.1% to USD 18.67 billion on a cumulative basis for January to June 2025; on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, personal remittances increased 1.0%. The United States remained the top recorded source of cash remittances in January to June 2025, followed by Singapore and Saudi Arabia, with the central bank noting source-country limitations due to routing through correspondent banks and aggregation practices of remittance centers and money couriers.
