The National Bank of Georgia reported discussions on capital market development and mutual securities market access at a meeting held as part of the Tbilisi Financial Summit. Governor Natia Turnava met Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Governor Renat Bekturov and a delegation from the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) to discuss financial cooperation between Georgia and Kazakhstan. Turnava highlighted growth in Georgia’s corporate bond market and expanding investment opportunities. The discussions followed the bank’s September 2026 memorandum with AFSA on mutual securities market access and recognition. That agreement provides for developing practical access mechanisms while respecting each jurisdiction’s legal and regulatory requirements. It builds on supervisory cooperation and information exchange established under a 2018 memorandum.
