The Bank of Cape Verde has launched a public survey on payment instrument use to support implementation of the Instant and Inclusive Transfer System, a national digital public infrastructure for immediate payments. The study will assess how citizens make everyday payments and the potential adoption of instant payment solutions. The survey covers cash, payment cards, bank transfers, checks, mobile payments and other electronic methods. It seeks to identify usage patterns and preferences, factors influencing cash use and opportunities to expand digital payments, with findings intended to inform the implementation and development of an inclusive instant payment service. Data collection runs through Sept. 25, 2026.
