The Bank of Cape Verde took part in the 11th meeting on payment systems for the central banks of Portuguese-speaking countries, held in Macau on June 2 and 3, where discussions focused on fintech and payments, payment security and cybersecurity. In that context, the central bank presented its strategic vision for the Cape Verdean Payment System, centered on the digital transformation of the financial system. Its presentation covered the Immediate and Inclusive Transfers System project and the Bank of Cape Verde Innovation Hub project. It also highlighted the payment system regulatory framework and the bank's role as payment system superintendency authority, framed around international best practices. The bank said the meeting also supported stronger bilateral and multilateral ties with peer central banks and provided a basis to assess its work on payment system development, security and cyber resilience.
