The Bank of Cape Verde, in partnership with the AfricaNenda Foundation and ThitsaWorks, held a hackathon on May 6 and 7 under its Inclusive Instant Transfers System development project focused on the open-source Mojaloop platform, bringing together payment service providers, fintechs and technology companies to strengthen local technical capacity, support innovation, expand ecosystem participation in payments infrastructure modernization and identify potential system integrators for the future national instant payments infrastructure, with work covering interoperability, provider integration and QR code payments.
