The UAE National Committee for Anti-Money Laundering, Combating the Financing of Terrorism and Proliferation Financing adopted a package of measures to strengthen financial investigations, risk-based supervision and coordination among national authorities. It approved a National Guide on Financial Intelligence and Money Laundering Investigations, which updates procedures for investigations, asset tracing and confiscation, and interagency coordination while extending the framework to virtual assets and asset recovery. The committee also approved risk assessments covering financial institutions, virtual asset service providers, and designated non-financial businesses and professions to support updated sector classifications and more targeted supervision and enforcement. Further measures included approving the second public version of the National Risk Assessment for Proliferation Financing, endorsing a risk assessment for nonprofit organizations, and restructuring the committee’s subcommittees and mandates.

The UAE’s national anti-money laundering committee adopted an updated financial intelligence and money laundering investigations guide covering virtual assets, asset tracing, confiscation and recovery. It also approved sectoral, proliferation-financing and nonprofit risk assessments and restructured its subcommittees to improve coordination.
