The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) took part in the National Council of Private Insurance (CNSP) meeting in Brasília, where the council approved SUSEP’s new internal bylaws and SUSEP presented its Regulation Plan for 2026, setting out intended rule revisions and new rulemaking priorities. The 2026 plan highlights the need to revise CNSP regulations to align with Law No. 15.040/2024 and Complementary Law No. 213/2025, including rules covering personal insurance, universal life insurance, the administrative sanctions process, and principles for conduct practices. It also points to forthcoming regulations for mutual property protection administrators and insurance cooperatives envisaged by Complementary Law No. 213/2025, a review of capitalization segment rules based on inputs from SUSEP’s regulatory and supervisory work, and changes to Open Insurance regulation reflecting progress in the working group established by Ordinance No. 8,442/2024. SUSEP has made the 2026 Regulation Plan available on its website, and the CNSP meets on a quarterly basis under its ordinary schedule.
