At the closing of the Indonesia Digital Financial Economy Festival and Indonesia Fintech Summit & Expo 2026, Adi Budiarso, the Financial Services Authority’s chief executive for supervision of financial sector technology innovation, digital financial assets and crypto assets, emphasized that digital finance innovation must be tested for security and public benefit before wider deployment. Regulatory sandbox assessments should be reinforced by consumer protection, cybersecurity, sound governance and risk management, consistent with the authority’s regulatory framework for financial sector technology innovation providers. Data driven services such as alternative credit scoring and securities crowdfunding could expand access to finance for consumers and micro, small and medium enterprises, but this expansion must be accompanied by stronger digital financial literacy and supervision. As of July 2026, digital financial asset and crypto asset accounts totaled 22.93 million, alternative credit scoring services had processed 28.32 million credit score data requests, and financial services aggregators had reached 19.26 million users. The authority also reiterated that it would work with stakeholders and law enforcement agencies to act against illegal practices.
