The National Bank of Moldova has published a draft decision to implement European Union rules on cooperation and information exchange between competent authorities for payment institutions operating under the right of establishment or the freedom to provide services. The draft would align Moldova with Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/2055 and covers notifications relating to the cross border activities of payment institutions and electronic money institutions. Under the proposal, the National Bank of Moldova would exchange information with the competent authorities of the relevant host or home member state in line with the EU framework. Notifications referred to in Article 3(1) to 3(3) of Regulation (EU) 2017/2055 would be accepted in Romanian or English, and the bank would receive them through designated electronic or postal channels published on its website. The draft states that the decision would enter into force on the date the Treaty on the Accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union enters into force.
