National Bank of Moldova First Deputy Governor Petru Rotaru and Deputy Governor Mihnea Constantinescu discussed expanding cooperation with CFA Institute and CFA Romania to support Moldova’s financial market development and European integration. The talks covered wider investment access, long-term financing and training Moldovan specialists in investment analysis, risk assessment and portfolio management, including possible CFA exam seminars and mentoring. The parties also considered further financial education initiatives for citizens, universities and economic journalists, building on a partnership with CFA Romania established in 2021. In the broader European integration context, the central bank reported that one year after Moldova’s operational connection to the Single Euro Payments Area, about 1.2 million SEPA transactions had generated EUR 16.4 million in savings, while the average transfer cost had fallen to about EUR 1. Its MIA Instant Payments system has also surpassed 1 million users.
