The United Arab Emirates Higher Committee overseeing the National Strategy on Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism and Countering Proliferation Financing approved the national system’s 2025 performance indicators. The indicators cover risk understanding, international cooperation, supervision, transparency and financial investigations, and are intended to strengthen the measurement and documentation of the system’s effectiveness. Authorities conducted 781 inspections of financial institutions and virtual asset service providers, imposing AED 384 million in penalties. They also carried out 8,900 inspections of designated non-financial businesses and professions, resulting in AED 160.33 million in penalties. The indicators recorded 516 incoming mutual legal assistance requests and 56 terrorist financing investigations. The committee also reviewed preparations for the joint mutual evaluation by the Financial Action Task Force and the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force.

Authorities reported 9,681 inspections and AED 544.33 million in penalties across regulated sectors, alongside 516 incoming mutual legal assistance requests and 56 terrorist financing investigations. The committee also reviewed preparations for the FATF and MENAFATF joint mutual evaluation.
