Moldova's Ministry of Finance reported that the Agricultural Credit Facility financed 769 micro and small agricultural businesses from March 2025 through August 2026. Loans totaled MDL 655.65 million, accompanied by MDL 65.68 million in grants. In August alone, 69 businesses received approvals, with MDL 59.2 million in lending and MDL 4.66 million in grants. Financing primarily supported agricultural equipment, post-harvest processing machinery and working capital. Of the projects, 370 were implemented in northern Moldova, 257 in the central region and 142 in the south. A grant-free working capital component introduced on April 9, 2026, has financed 113 businesses with MDL 44.37 million and provides up to MDL 500,000 per beneficiary. A further MDL 26.02 million remains available for eligible loans in 2026, alongside MDL 18.32 million for related grants. The facility provides Moldovan leu financing to final beneficiaries at a fixed annual interest rate of 5.1%.
