Moldova's Ministry of Finance reported that the Agricultural Credit Facility financed 769 micro and small agricultural businesses from March 2025 through August 2026, with total on-lending of MDL 655.65 million. This included 69 businesses and MDL 59.2 million in August. Associated grants totaled MDL 65.68 million, including MDL 4.66 million awarded during August. Financing primarily supported agricultural equipment, post-harvest processing machinery and working capital. The program offers Moldovan leu financing through partner financial institutions at a fixed annual interest rate of 5.1%. Its grant-free independent agricultural working capital component, introduced on April 9, 2026, has financed 113 businesses with MDL 44.37 million and caps financing at MDL 500,000 per beneficiary. A further MDL 26.02 million remains available for eligible loans in 2026, alongside MDL 18.32 million for associated grants.
