The Central Bank of Russia reported a 5.0% decline in incoming payments in 2026 Q1, with March receipts down 8.1% versus the 2025 Q4 average, according to its latest Monitoring of Sectoral Financial Flows review. The contraction was mainly driven by export-oriented industries, while receipts grew only in investment-demand sectors, and the Bank expects higher global export commodity prices in March to support payment dynamics with a lag in the second quarter.

The European Central Bank published asset quality review results for LBS Landesbausparkasse Süd and Wüstenrot Bausparkasse AG, following their classification as significant institutions after total assets exceeded EUR 30 billion. The reviews focused on credit risk and reduced reported Common Equity Tier 1 ratios by 137 basis points for LBS Süd and 98 basis points for Wüstenrot, mainly due to earlier recognition of credit risk under “Bauspar” contracts and additional provisioning needs. AQR-adjusted ratios remain above capital requirements, and the findings will inform ongoing supervision and the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process.
